Making ERP Less Confusing—One Practical Guide at a Time
Let’s be honest: ERP doesn’t have the best reputation.
For many, it recalls endless meetings, budget overruns, and spreadsheets that somehow keep growing. But it doesn’t have to be that way. At erppilot.com, we’re on a mission to cut through the noise and show you what ERP really looks like when done right—whether you’re a student just starting out, a founder choosing your first system, or a CIO managing a full-scale rollout.
We’re not consultants charging by the hour. We’re builders, implementers, and problem solvers from BRS Infotek—the team behind Cyprus ERP. And we created erppilot.com because we kept seeing the same gaps: great technology held back by poor preparation, solid teams derailed by vague advice, and smart people overwhelmed by overly technical or sales driven content.
So, we built this space as a no fluff zone. Here, you’ll find real world checklists, honest comparisons, implementation war stories (the good and the messy), and plain language explanations of what matters when selecting and deploying an ERP.
Why This Exists—and Why It Matters
Too many ERP guides either talk down to you or drown you in acronyms. Meanwhile, businesses spend months (and serious money) only to realize too late that they missed a critical step—or picked a system that looked great on paper but couldn’t handle their actual workflows.
We’ve been in those trenches. We’ve seen what works—and what doesn’t—across dozens of implementations. That’s why every article here is rooted in hands on experience, not theory. Our goal isn’t to sell you something the moment you land on the page. It’s to give you the clarity to make your own smart decision.
Who’s Behind the Content?
The posts you read on erppilot.com aren’t ghostwritten or outsourced. They’re written by our inhouse ERP team—solution architects, functional consultants, and developers who are actively building, customizing, and supporting Cyprus ERP.
Cyprus ERP itself started as a fork of Adempiere, but we’ve rebuilt it from the ground up to meet modern business needs. Today, it runs on:
- Frontend: ZK 3
- Database: PostgreSQL 15
- Web Server: Apache 8.5
Because we live inside this code every day, our advice isn’t pulled from a textbook—it’s shaped by real implementations, client feedback, and the kind of lessons you only learn after going live.
You’ll notice that every blog post includes a short author bio. That’s intentional. We believe you should know who’s giving you advice—and what they’ve actually done in the field.
Two Goals, One Philosophy
1. Teach First
Whether you’re studying ERP in college or evaluating vendors for your manufacturing business, we want you to walk away smarter—even if you never use our software. No bait and switch. No hidden agendas.
2. Offer a Better Alternative
When you are ready to explore a flexible, open core ERP that doesn’t require a seven-figure consulting budget, we hope you’ll check out [Cyprus ERP Goldfish 1.0] (https://cypruserp.com). It’s the system we built for the very challenges we write about—and it reflects everything we believe good ERP should be adaptable, transparent, and grounded in real business logic.
What’s Coming Next
We’re putting the finishing touches on Cyprus ERP Shark—a major upgrade built on ZK 10, PostgreSQL 15, and Apache 10. This isn’t just a version bump; it’s a complete modernization of the user experience, performance, and customization layer.
On erppilot.com, we’ll be sharing early previews, migration tips, and deep technical walkthroughs as we get closer to launch. Consider this your front row seat.
